LUNA
The Science Student Union (LUNA) represents all 1,800 students enrolled in Bachelor's and Master's programs at the Faculty of Science at Lund University. Our work is organised into three main areas: Education, Career, and Recreation.
Education
The primary goal of the Science Student Union (LUNA) is to monitor and actively contribute to the development of education and the overall conditions for students at the Faculty of Science. This is mainly achieved through elected student representatives—at both the faculty and departmental levels—whom the Union Parliament and the respective student councils appoint. These representatives voice the collective opinions of students in all decision-making bodies within the Faculty.
The union also upholds and promotes the List of Rights, a written agreement between students and the university that outlines the rights and responsibilities of students at Lund University, ensuring they are respected and followed. In addition, through collaboration with LUS (Lunds Universitets Studentkårer), SNaK (Sveriges NaturvetarKårer), and SFS (Sveriges Förenade Studentkårer), LUNA ensures that the voice of science students is heard not only within the faculty but also at the university-wide and national levels.
Career
The union works to make your studies valuable for your future by creating connections between you and your potential career paths. Each year, the Corporate Relations Committee (CRC) organises a series of activities under the ATLAS initiative, which includes three main components: Alumni, Career, and Lectures.
Recreation
Your time in Lund should be fun, engaging, and full of opportunities to meet new friends. That is why the Science Student Union organizes a variety of recreational activities throughout the year to help students connect. Events like formal balls (e.g., UTOPIA), welcome activities for new students, and sports events are just a few examples, many of which are coordinated by our dedicated committees.
Additionally, the Student Councils organise their recreational activities tailored to students within their respective departments.
