Being Active

The active members of the Science Student Union (LUNA) are made up of 98.257% volunteers. Only the Presidium and the Head of Corporate Relations hold remunerated positions.

Thanks to the dedication of our active members, the union can fulfill its mission of making student life at the Faculty of Science the best it can be—academically, professionally, and socially.

Being an active member is not only rewarding and enjoyable, but also a great opportunity for personal growth and development. Active members are also invited to exclusive events organised by the union.

To candidate you can nominate yourself by sending an email to ordf@luna.lu.se or free nominate yourself during upcoming Parliament. To get involved with the student council, show up to upcoming council meeting or contact the Chairpeople.

Student Representative Positions

The main objective of the Science Student Union is to represent student opinion in various decision-making bodies at the Faculty of Science, to improve all aspects of your education at Lund University.

To achieve this, the union operates through three key committees focused on student representation:

Education Committee (UU)
Health, Environment, and Safety Committee (HMS)
Gender and Equality Committee (JoL)

Each committee is composed of members elected by the Parliament to represent students at the faculty level, as well as members elected by the Student Councils to represent students at the departmental level. The work of each committee is coordinated and led by an elected committee chairperson.

Union Organisational Positions

To support the work of our student representatives and offer engaging activities beyond academics, the union has several committees focused on organisational and social aspects of student life. These include:

Party Committee (6m)

In addition to committee roles, the union holds various organisational positions. These include, but are not limited to:

The Quartermaster, who is responsible for maintaining the union's archives
The UTOPIA Ball Masters, who organise the union's annual formal ball

These roles and committees ensure that the union remains active, well-functioning, and socially vibrant.
